Aaron died at the age of 21. He was wise beyond his age. His life touched us all on #mormon-friends. We have many fond memories of Drakkar (as Aaron called himself). My earliest memory was when I began to chat. I hadn't been there for long, when in came a young man with the nick of churchy . Aaron used the nick because he said many of his friends called him by that nick. Aaron would go to different channels sharing the gospel. So churchy seemed to fit his work. I felt Aaron's nick was a bit beyond his years. I pictured the person behind the nick as and older person. I did get to know Aaron, and encouraged him to change his nick. Then he went by the nick of Postum Postum was a bit different too, and Aaron continued to use it until he decided to change it to Drakkar. This new nick fit Aaron better (his favorite cologne) and was his favorite. Aaron loved the channel, and we loved Aaron. Even when he was sick with cystic fibrosis, he would chat with us. You could almost smell his homemade bread through the screen as he described it on the channel. Aaron loved to bake. Many times we would see Aaron change his nick to Drakkar_getting_beat which meant he was getting his treatments, and literally getting his chest beat upon, dislodging the substance in his lungs. Drakkar spent a lot of time in the hospital, which he didn't care to do. He was to be there for about 3 weeks, and one night, he came in the channel. It was late at night. I asked Aaron if he was home, and he replied that he found a computer. The computer wasn't being used at night, and he was allowed to chat on it. The nurse brought him a longer hose so that he could chat and still be connected to his oxygen tank. He was so excited that he downloaded the software and got into the channel. I informed the channel members that if they wanted to see Aaron, they would need to come in late at night and they would see him. After that, he started taking his computer to the hospital. There he was provided with a special phone line. He would chat in the hospital for hours. We loved to see him there. He loved to see us there also. Aaron set up a channel party at Lagoon. I wasn't able to attend, but many were. The party was the talk of the channel for a long time. Expecially Sky-King's red convertable, LilRed. Sky-King allowed Aaron to take it for a spin. Aaron did, and had the car full of lovely young ladies. He was pulled over by a policeman, who looked at Aaron with his car full of girls, and warned against letting the girls ride on the back seat. They needed to be in the car. As the policeman left, he said "By the way, nice car". Aaron loved Sky's car. I think he loved it just as much as Sky did. Aaron also loved his friend Sky-King. They became good buddies. Sky would have done anything to please Aaron, they had a special bond. Aaron had a main goal, and that was to find his eternal companion. He was bound and determined to find her, and he did. Her name was Pam Martin. She chatted with the nick of PBMartin. When Aaron found her, he was so excited. We all watched as Pam and Aaron flirted on the channel. Sometimes, however, they were both silent, and we knew they were in private chat with each other. Aaron fell in love with Pam and proudly announced that he proposed to her and she said yes. Aaron and Pam were married in the Manti Temple on October 10, 1997. Aaron left our channel and left the arms of his new wife on October 21, 1997. We were all saddened upon his leaving. I asked Aaron if he was afraid of death one night. He told me that he wasn't afraid of death. He was just afraid of how he would get there. In his words "Suffucating Sucks! Aaron will always be in our hearts. As we think of him at this time, we have fond memories of his friendship, his sense of humor, and his love of the life. Cystic fibrosis (sixty five roses). Yes, he called it that too. I was invited into his channel #sixty-five-roses, and because I didn't understand why it was called sixty five roses, he had to explain... Cystic Fibrosis, SOUNDED like sixty five roses. And, sixty five roses were requested for his funeral. Some of the channel members on #mormon-friends have met in real life. Others won't ever see the faces of those we chat with. But there will be a time, after this life that we will gaze into the eyes of our friends. I can't wait to meet Aaron behind the door of this life. Aaron, take a big breath now! Aaron's Personal webpages are linked here. I was asked to keep and maintian his pages for him. His pages will always be included in the #mormon-friends website. We love you Aaron!Aaron's Webpage
