Sexual Assault is...
Unwanted or suggested, forced sexual contact. It can be in the form of:

  • Rape, Date Rape
  • Exposing
  • Forcing a person to pose for sexual pictures.
  • Forcing a person to look at pornography.
  • Unwanted touching of the breasts or genitals.
  • Sodomy
  • Harassment

What is Rape?

  • Rape is a form of Sexual Assault. It is a widely misunderstood crime. Rape involves actual penetration of the virgina by the penis or an object. Sodomy involves penetration of the mouth or anus.

What is Date Rape?

  • The act of forcing sex on a date. It is sometimes called "Social Rape: or "Silent Rape."""

What is Exposing or Flashing?

  • The act of intentionally exposing naked breasts, or genitals. If someone forces or coerces you into posing naked for pictures or forces or pressures you to look at pornography.

What is Fondling?

  • The unwanted touching or grabbing of breasts or genitals. It is also someone forcing, pressuring, or coercing you to touch their breasts or genitals.

What is Sodomy?

  • Penetration of the mouth of anus with the penis, or the penetration of the anus with an object.

What is Sexual Harassment?

  • Threats, either obvious or subtle, that is used as a condition of an individual's employment or as a condition of a promotion or raise.
    It is also, any conduct of a person that unreasonably interferes with an individual's performance in the classroom or at the job site. Any conduct that creates and intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.

Myths About Sexual Assault

You DO NOT Have the right to pressure
or force a woman to have sex even if:

  • Myth: Rape is a crime of lust.
  • Fact: Rape is a crime of violence, where sex is the weapon.
  • Myth: Sexual Assault is committed by strangers.
  • Fact: Most Sexual Assault or Sexual Abuse is committed by a family member or by someone familiar.
  • Myth: Flirting or skimpy dress encourage sexual assault.
  • Fact: Flirting or skimpy dress is not an invitation to Rape. If she wants sex, she'll say so.
  • Myth: Women who say "No" really mean, "Yes."
  • Fact: The word "No" means "NO." It should never be interpreted in any other way.

Why does someone commit Rape or Sexual Assault?

  • To express anger.
  • Because they themselves were sexually abused or assaulted.
  • To humiliate.
  • To dominate and control the victim.
  • To derive sadistic pleasure.

Who Is Sexually Assaulted?

Victims are never to be blamed!
