Figure 5: Rising of Thoughts: This is how a thought rises from the storehouse of impressions through the different levels of the mind. At this level sound and form unite to become one entity. This level activity relates somewhat to the semantic network models of memory proposed by many theorists. In the storehouse of impressions, the full, universal categorical knowledge of an object is contained. As impressions reach this level they cause it to begin to vibrate, and the appropriate categories are opened. These come up to the individualized expression of knowledge and set this level vibrating. However, gaining the full categorical knowledge of an object is insufficient to explain the process of knowledge, because not only is there knowledge of categories, this information is also combined. Therefore, some part of these deeper levels of the mind act to combine the knowledge in a schematic manner. It is the level of feeling that acts to combine and connect different fields of life. Once the intellect receives these linked impulses, it opens the appropriate channels in the mind, and allows the thought bubbles to flow out through them to the screen of the mind. Conscious attention focuses where the rising impulses meet.
