In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the relationship of disease to an underlying emotional factor may only be implied. Part of the reason is the materialistic orientation of the communist regime, has caused the Chinese to cut away or obscure centuries of TCM psychospiritual relevancies. All through history experiences of deep structures of consciousness have been reported by some of the greatest thinkers and artists in each age. Despite their repeated occurrence, these reports have usually been discarded by the modern scientific tradition that focuses on experiences that are common. | A Model of Attention |
Attention is usually thought of as either a discrete mental process or as a capacity for mental work. Maharishi's Vedic Psychology has the ability to integrate these two concepts into one global model. It uses a model of the levels of the mind to relate to stage theories of mental processing, and it uses the deepest level of the mind, pure consciousness, as the source of mental energy. With this model it is possible to explain many experiments on the TM technique in terms of cognitive models of the mind.

Examples of clients in various stages of using this ecotherapy are reviewed and suggest that the activities on site or via the internet serve the client as a psychological diagnostic tool as well as a lasting therapeutic experience.
| Cognitition and Scientific Discourse | Sociological approaches deny the need for psychological, and particularly cognitive, explanations of scientific discourse because psychological processes are assumed to be a consequence of social processes. This view of scientific discourse is challenged in the present paper. Recognition of the role of social processes in scientific discourse does not obviate the role of cognitive processes. It is argued that the cognitive psychology of science should establish a programme of research based upon the theories, methodologies and body of evidence from cognitive psychology. | |
